This time we decided to show you something different.
It is probably only the beginning a turning point that will introduce you to new objects different from those to which you are used to see from us.
Our trip to Morocco was exciting and made us rediscover an authentic handicrafts which in many countries (including our Italy) is unfortunately something increasingly rare. But we are stubborn and we go on our way. The thing that surprised us and which we will treasure is the skill with which the artisans of Morocco reuse existing materials: it’s amazing how many things that we usually throw away can take other forms and be reused.
This is a concept that we like very much and of which we will treasure.
We also thought that it is not right limit to one area, but give free vent to our creativity and enthusiasm. In the family, then we have Ennio (father of David), who for many years dealing with sculpture, creating works mainly in metal.
Ennio has had awards both in sculpture competitions and created works for public and private clients which we’ll show soon in the next post.
Currently we only present our “Ragni d’Arredo“
Handmade with copper wire, to give greater solidity to the structure, the spider is subjected to a slight welding torch (with copper electrode) in the critical points. In this case we have made the eyes with two rivets.
The effect of copper oxidation was accelerated with acid bath.
The eyelet at the base of the feet allows you to hang the spider on the wall with a small nail.
To achieve the body of this spider, we started from a candle for motor car. The legs are made of welded screws with a torch with dice. Also in this case the eyelet in the paws allows to hang the spider to the wall with a simple tack.
You can buy our spiders directly from our shop on etsy
