VERTO e-cig case | Lining yes or lining not?

A few days ago, while I sewed a VERTO e-cig case for a very kind American customer, I doubt arises.

Different finishes for VERTO leather case

Usually I do not put the lining in the items made of vegetable tanned cowhide leather,
but I doubt whether or not to put it in her case.

The calf lining for the custody of the e-cig:
– Technical function of lining: gives stiffness. Vegetable tanned leather is sufficiently rigid, even if soft. Other leathers are too soft and need a reinforcer.
– Conceptual reason for not putting the lining: the leather is valued in its essence, whitout adding glue.
– Reason to doubt: the aesthetic. Infact she said, lining ‘add a nice look’. But the vegetable tanned leather has a very beautiful texture inside, than other leather types.

In the end I created the custody without lining. It came very well and has its own particular flavor.

VERTO case - red and black | with and without calf lining

In short, it is (almost) just a matter of taste.
And what finish do you prefer?

(Anyway, you can order a customized VERTO on our Etsy-shop ;D )
